学生のころから彼らの歌が好きで特にポール・サイモンの詩が好きです。
彼は2５歳で「冬の散歩道」を書いたそうです。
特に私の好きなフレーズをご紹介。
和訳は入れてません。

年老いた2人がベンチの両端に腰掛け それはまるでブックエンドのよう。
映像としてその光景が目に浮かぶようです。
4月になれば彼女は（April Come She Will）
「4月になれば彼女は」は好きな曲です。
映画「卒業」の中で去ってしまった彼女を想うシーンに流れます。
「サウンド・オブ・サイレンス」「スカボロー・フェア」があまりに有名なので隠れた名曲です。

他にも「Sparrow（すずめ）」「雨に負けぬ花」など素敵な歌詞ばかり。
どれが１番か選ぶのは非常にむずかしいです。
詩的で韻を踏み、中学英語でなんとか理解できる範囲なのがうれしい。
このころフォークギターを買って彼らの曲を練習したものです。
でも 彼の曲はほとんどがハイコードで書かれていて初心者の私には難しすぎ。
弾くのはあきらめてもっぱら聴くことに専念しました。
